MSP Zoo Giveaway Terms and Conditions

Who can enter

You can enter if you are attending IT Nation and are 18 or older. Employees of Empath Cyber, Inc. (“Empath,” “we”) and of the participating MSP Zoo vendors can’t enter, and neither can their immediate family members or anyone in their household. Immediate family means a spouse, parent, child, or sibling, and the spouse of any of those people.

How to enter

Visit every required MSP Zoo vendor booth listed in the MSP Zoo Field Guide and collect a valid stamp at each one. Write your contact information on the Field Guide, clearly and accurately, and turn it in at the Empath booth by 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time on November 6, 2026.

One entry per person. We may disqualify any entry that is incomplete, hard to read, a duplicate, altered, late, or fraudulent.

The prize and the drawing

We will draw one winner at random from all eligible entries at the Empath booth at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time on November 6, 2026, right after entries close. The winner receives US $2,500 in cash, less any tax withholding the law requires. Your odds of winning depend on how many eligible entries we receive.

You must be at the booth to win

If the person whose entry is drawn is not at the Empath booth at the time of the drawing, that entry is forfeited and we draw another one. We also draw again if the person drawn is not eligible, turns down the prize, or does not complete the steps below.

Collecting the prize

Before we hand over the cash, the winner must, at the booth:

  • show a valid government-issued photo ID so we can confirm who they are and that they are eligible,
  • fill out and sign the tax paperwork we provide (usually IRS Form W-9, or another tax form if that one does not apply), and
  • sign a prize receipt.

Once all three are done, we pay the prize in cash on the spot.

Taxes

The winner is responsible for any taxes on the prize. We will keep the records the law requires, withhold tax where the law requires it, and send the winner any tax reporting forms we are required to issue.

How the giveaway is run

Empath runs the giveaway. We check entries, hold the random drawing, verify the winner, pay the prize, and handle tax reporting. Participating MSP Zoo vendors help fund the giveaway, promote it, or both.

If something outside our reasonable control seriously affects the fairness, security, or integrity of the giveaway, we may take reasonable steps to correct it, as the law allows, including changing or pausing the affected procedures. We will post any material changes on this page, at empathmsp.com/msp-zoo-rules.
