Milestones of Growth We're Thankful for at Empath

Without people, a platform is just an empty room.

You can fill it with features and content, but without passion, it’s dead on arrival.

We’ve learned that the secret to a platform MSPs actually adopt isn't the code itself, but the humans who breathe life into it. That includes the team that builds it, the experts who guide it, and the community that trusts it.

This Thanksgiving, we’re putting them front and center.

So here it is, five milestones we’re thankful for, and the people behind them.

1. The Gift of Guidance

It's easy to think you have all the answers when you’re in leadership. This year was about admitting we don't.

Our entire mission is to guide MSPs to success. But to do that well, we needed to sharpen our own map. A few months back, we leveled up by launching the Empath Advisors Council. We brought on three heavy hitters:

  • Chris Day (ScalePad CEO) - To help us understand how to build a product that MSPs actually need and where we should focus our development efforts.
  • Adam Slutskin (CyberFOX Chief Revenue & Strategy Officer) - A mentor and coach who provides wise counsel on building an accountable sales process and understanding why MSPs buy.
  • Andrew Kaiser (Huntress VP of Sales) - The humble, incredibly effective leader who challenges our MSP growth strategy with ideas, tweaks, and strategic insight.

Read the full story on their commitment and why they joined us.

This milestone is also made possible by the trust we share with our community. Our partners show up to our monthly Herd Meetups and bring real talk, tough questions, and honest feedback.

That’s the kind of gift you don’t take for granted. It keeps us authentic, innovative, and focused on solving real problems.

2. The Platform's Evolution

This year, our platform got a serious glow-upWe focused on building tools that remove friction and drive accountability.

  • Cleaner UI: A complete visual refresh focused on function, making it easier for your team to navigate their learning journey.
  • Smoother Content Creation: We rebuilt the content engine to allow you to build courses and pathways faster than ever.
  • The Empath Recorder: An in-app recording tool that lets you build custom content immediately. You can record screens and voiceovers for your specific SOPs without leaving the browser.
  • Knowledge Checks: We added validation steps to ensure your team isn't just watching a video but actually retaining the information before they mark a module complete.

And when people say, “Empath just works,” that’s not luck. It's the result of long nights, buried code, and a dev team that fixes problems before anyone ever sees them.

We're grateful for the work they pull off, but we’re also trying not to break them in the process. Yes, new features are coming, but we’re pacing ourselves because we want this team around for the next launch (And the one after that!).

These prove a belief that to build the future of MSP training, you’ve got to give your team the room to build, break, and iterate every single day.

3. The Wisdom of the Trenches

We are also incredibly grateful for our Navigators whose hard-won wisdom is the content itself. They are the busy and successful MSP leaders who carve out time to share their proven playbooks and whose lessons come straight from the field.

Leaders like Nett Lynch, who breaks down the vCIO role; Jordan Silva, who teaches product strategy; and Mark Jennings, who demystifies risk management. More than just teaching theory, they share the hard-won wisdom, the mistakes to avoid, and the battle scars that only come from real experience.

We are thankful for their willingness to lift the industry up by sharing what actually works.

This also tells us the industry is done settling for generic training. It’s ready for real tools. A real MSP growth strategy. And a whole lot more empathy.

4. Our Community of Learners and Leaders

This year, the Empath community made it loud and clear: professional growth matters.

Our active user base more than tripled over the last year. That’s not just stat, it’s a signal. Every user logged is the outcome of a leader choosing to invest in their people and their future.

We are especially grateful to the Service Managers, vCIOs, and owners who do the heavy lifting behind the scenes. We know that buying a platform is easy, but building a culture is hard work. We see you logging in to build custom learning pathways, assigning courses, and ensuring your team has a clear road map for success.

That effort is what turns training into retention. We are honored to support the leaders who are doing the work to build the next generation of MSP talent.

5. Our Own People

We started out this year with only a little over 10 people and we’re finishing off with more than 20. While that number is a metric of business health, the real story is who those people are and the energy they bring.

A few months back, we kicked off our Humans of Empath series to spotlight the folks behind the scenes. One theme kept popping up: working here feels like being part of something real.

Wes, Alex, and Kyle (WAK) built a culture where trust runs deep, growth is expected, and where you’re free to try, stumble, and stretch into the next big thing.

You’ll hear the same thing from members across roles. They take pride in their craft and care about the customer. Most importantly, they know the mission matters.

After all, Empath isn’t just a platform. It’s a team. And this team is just getting started.

A Thanksgiving Thank You to Our Team and Our Community

As we wrap up the year and reflect on what we’re most thankful for, one thing stands out: It’s the people who made all of this possible.

Every milestone we hit was powered by incredible momentum, and we are energized and propelled by this shared success straight into the year ahead.

We’ll keep investing in the mission and most importantly, in the humans who drive it forward every day.

From all of the Humans of Empath to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.
