Resend Welcome Email

This article explains how to help a team member access Empath if their original one-time login activation link has expired, been lost, or was never received.

What is a One-Time Login Link?

Empath uses magic links (secure, one-time login URLs) to simplify authentication. Each time a user is invited, they receive a personalized login link via email. These links:

  • Expire after a short period for security

  • Can only be used once

  • Are tied to the device and session they were first opened in

💡 If your organization has enabled Social SSO via Microsoft or Google Workspace (GSuite), new users can log in using their SSO credentials as long as the email address matches their user record in Empath — even if they never received or used the activation email.

Step-by-Step: Resend a Login Link

  1. Log into Empath with a Manager or Content Admin role.

  2. Go to Settings > Account Settings.

  3. Select the Users tab from the left-hand navigation bar.

  4. Locate the user who needs a new link.

  5. Click the ellipsis ("...") next to their name.

  6. Choose "Resend Activation Email" from the dropdown.

  7. Confirm the action. A new activation email will be sent immediately.

⚠️ If the user doesn't see the email, have them check their spam/junk folder or any quarantine policies in their email filtering tool.

🧲 Troubleshooting

  • User never received the link: Confirm their email was entered correctly.

  • Link expired: Simply resend using the steps above.

  • Link doesn’t open or redirect properly: Instruct the user to open it in a private/incognito browser window. Or navigate directly to app.empathmsp.com.

  • User signed up on their own: Make sure they are connected to the correct tenant. Support may need to assist with cross-tenant corrections.
