Modifying Live Stream Subscriptions and Notifications

Objective

This KB outlines the steps to modify live stream subscriptions and email notifications in the Empath platform.

Key Steps

 

Step 1: Log into Empath 0:14

  • Access the Empath platform using your credentials.

  • Ensure you are logged into the correct tenant.

 

Step 2: Navigate to Live Streams 0:31

  • Locate the 'Live Streams' option in the top menu.

  • Click on it to view the list of available live streams.

 

Step 3: Access Profile Settings 1:07

  • Click on your profile icon in the top corner.

  • Select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.

 

Step 4: Modify Notification Settings 1:20

  • In the 'Settings' menu, go to the 'Notifications' tab.

  • Review your current subscription status (likely set to 'All').

  • Choose to unsubscribe or select individual live streams to receive notifications for.

 

Step 5: Set Notification Preferences 1:40

  • Decide on notification timing: 7 days, 24 hours, 1 hour, or 5 minutes before the live stream.

  • Select which notifications you want to receive (or choose all).

 

Step 6: Unsubscribe from All Notifications (if needed) 1:49

  • If you wish to stop all notifications, uncheck all options and ensure you are not subscribed to any live streams.

  • Ensure all your selections are correct.

  • Save your changes to update your notification preferences.

  • If you encounter any issues, click on the chat bubble in the corner for assistance.

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure you double-check your notification settings to avoid missing important live streams.

  • Unsubscribing from all notifications will prevent you from receiving any updates about live streams.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Regularly review your notification settings to keep them aligned with your interests.

  • Use the chat support feature for quick resolutions to any issues.

When you log into Empath for the first time, your account is subscribed to all live streams and live classes by default. If we leave that as-is, you may get a lot of email invitations and reminders.

What we want you subscribed to

For our team, please stay subscribed to:

  • [LIVESTREAM / CLASS NAME #1] – [WHY / WHO IT’S FOR]

  • [LIVESTREAM / CLASS NAME #2] – [WHY / WHO IT’S FOR]

  • [LIVESTREAM / CLASS NAME #3] – [WHY / WHO IT’S FOR]

  • [OPTIONAL: Anything else you should subscribe to]

If you want, you can unsubscribe from everything else.

Do this now (takes ~60 seconds)

  1. In Empath, click your profile icon (top-right).

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Go to Notifications.

  4. Under Upcoming Live Stream Notifications:

    • Set your mode to Individual

    • Check the boxes for the live streams listed above

    • Confirm which reminders you want (7 days, 24 hours, 1 hour, 5 minutes)

If you want zero live stream emails, choose Unsubscribe and ensure nothing is selected.

Important note

Right now, admins can’t bulk-manage individual user subscriptions for live streams. Each person needs to set their own preferences.
