How the email digest works
Learn what the Empath email digest is, who receives it, and which notifications go into it.
This article explains the email digest: one scheduled email that groups non-urgent notifications instead of sending them one at a time.
What is the email digest?
Empath groups non-urgent notifications into one scheduled email for each learner. Managers get a weekly team summary instead.
A notification goes into the digest when its Frequency is Digest, or when it's set to Recommended and Empath's default for it is the digest. See “Choose when emails send (Recommended, Immediate or Digest)”.
Who gets a digest, and when?
- Learners get their digest on the schedule you choose on the Email digest tab: Daily or Weekly (Mondays).
- Managers (anyone with people reporting to them) get a weekly team summary, the weekly team report, so they aren't emailed twice.
- If there's nothing to include, no digest is sent.
Good to know
- Time-sensitive emails, like new assignments and due-date reminders, aren't held for the digest when set to Recommended or Immediate.
- The email digest is on by default.
