Choose who receives a notification (Audience)
Learn how the Audience option works: People it's about, Managers & admins, and Team members only.
This article explains the Audience option, which narrows down who can receive a notification.
How does Audience work?
Each delivery on a row has an Audience option:
- People it's about: the people the notification is naturally for. For Assigned training, that's the learner who was assigned the course. For the weekly team report, it's the manager.
- Managers & admins: only people with a manager or admin role in Empath.
- Team members only: only people who belong to at least one team in Empath.
Good to know
- Keep learner rows on People it's about. If you set Assigned training to Managers & admins, learners stop getting their "New course assigned" emails, because learners aren't managers.
- Managers & admins is based on the person's role in Empath, not on whether they have people reporting to them.
- Team members only means any team. You can't pick specific teams.
- Credential expiry warnings always go to the learner and their manager, whatever the Audience setting.
