Choose when emails send (Recommended, Immediate or Digest)
Learn what the Frequency options mean for each email notification: Recommended, Immediate and Digest.
Learn how the Frequency option decides whether an email goes out straight away or is saved for the email digest.
What do the Frequency options mean?
Every row has a Frequency option next to Email:
- Recommended (the default): Empath uses the timing that works best for that notification. Time-sensitive ones, like assignments, reminders and overdue alerts, send straight away. Less urgent ones are saved for the digest.
- Immediate: its own email, shortly after it happens.
- Digest: saved and included in the next digest email. You choose how often the digest goes out on the Email digest tab.
Steps
- Go to Admin → Notification Settings → Notification types.
- Make sure Email is ticked on the row. Frequency is greyed out when Email is off.
- Choose Recommended, Immediate or Digest.
Good to know
- Frequency only applies to email. Bell notifications always appear right away.
- If you choose Digest but the email digest is turned off, those emails aren't sent at all. They aren't saved for later. See “Turn the email digest on or off and choose how often it sends”.
- Changed your mind? Choose Recommended to go back to Empath's default.
