How to Use the Knowledge Base
The Knowledge Base is a curated library within your Campus for evergreen resources — courses, live streams, and uploaded files that members can reference at any time. Unlike the feed, which shows content in chronological order, the Knowledge Base organizes content by type for easy discovery.
Prerequisites
- Member, Moderator, or Admin role in the Campus
Knowledge Base vs. Feed
| Feed | Knowledge Base | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Time-sensitive posts, discussions, announcements | Evergreen resources and reference materials |
| Content order | Chronological (newest first) | Organized by content type |
| Best for | Updates, conversations, sharing new content | Training courses, recorded sessions, reference documents |
Navigating the Knowledge Base
1. Open the Knowledge Base
Click Knowledge Base in the Campus sidebar. You'll see the Knowledge Base header with your Campus name and an Upload File button.
2. Browse by Tab
The Knowledge Base is organized into four tabs:
| Tab | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| All | All Knowledge Base content across all types. |
| Courses | Courses from your organization's Empath course catalog that have been shared in this Campus. |
| Live stream | Live stream recordings and upcoming sessions associated with this Campus. |
| Uploads | Files and documents that have been uploaded directly to the Knowledge Base. |
3. Upload a File
To add a document or file to the Knowledge Base:
- Click the Upload File button in the top-right corner of the Knowledge Base page.
- In the upload dialog, select the file from your computer.
- Complete the upload process.
The uploaded file will appear in the Uploads tab and in the All tab.
How Courses Appear in the Knowledge Base
Courses from your organization's Empath course catalog can appear in the Knowledge Base when they are shared in your Campus. This gives members a dedicated place to find and access training content without scrolling through the feed.
When to Use the Knowledge Base vs. Feed Posts
- Use the Knowledge Base for content your members will return to repeatedly — training courses, onboarding materials, important documents, and reference guides.
- Use feed posts for timely updates, announcements, discussions, and content that is relevant in the moment.
Important Notes
- The Knowledge Base is available to all Campus members.
- Only users with appropriate permissions can upload files.
- Courses in the Knowledge Base come from your organization's Empath course catalog — they are not uploaded directly.
