Objective

This KB outlines the steps for employees to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when logging into Empath.

Key Steps

 

Step 1: Log into Empath 0:40

  • Employees will log into Empath using their email.

  • A code will be sent to their email for verification.

 

Step 2: Access Profile Settings 1:12

  • After logging in, click on the profile image located in the top corner.

  • Select 'Profile' from the dropdown menu.

 

Step 3: Navigate to Privacy and Security 1:32

  • In the profile menu, click on 'Privacy and Security' from the left-hand tab.

 

Step 4: Set Up MFA 1:39

  • Click on the option to set up MFA.

  • Choose to use Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

 

Step 5: Scan QR Code 2:02

  • Open the authenticator app on your phone.

  • Click the plus button and select 'Scan a QR Code'.

  • Scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

 

Step 6: Enter Verification Code 2:30

  • Enter the code generated by the authenticator app into the provided field.

  • Save the recovery code provided for future reference.

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure that the employee has access to their email to receive the initial verification code.

  • Advise employees to keep their recovery codes secure and accessible only to them.

  • Encourage employees to set up MFA immediately after their first login to enhance security.

  • Recommend using a dedicated authenticator app for better management of MFA codes.
