How to Manage Permissions
The Permissions settings let you control what Members and Moderators can do in your Campus. You can enable or disable posting, commenting, and invite permissions for each role. Admins always have full permissions.
Prerequisites
- Admin role in the Campus
Steps
1. Open Campus Settings
Navigate to your Campus and click Campus Settings in the sidebar.
ℹ️ The Permissions settings are managed within the Campus Settings area. Currently, permission controls are available through the settings interface.
2. Configure Post Permissions
Under the Posts section, you'll see the heading "Control who can post in your community" along with toggles for each role:
- Moderators — Toggle on to allow Moderators to create posts. When enabled, you can further control what types of content they can post:
- Text posts — Allow or restrict text-based posts.
- Images — Allow or restrict image attachments in posts.
- Files — Allow or restrict file attachments in posts.
- Members — Toggle on to allow Members to create posts.
3. Configure Comment Permissions
Under the Comments section, you'll see the heading "Control who can write comments in your community" along with toggles for each role:
- Moderators — Toggle on to allow Moderators to write comments.
- Members — Toggle on to allow Members to write comments.
4. Configure Invite Permissions
Under the Invite members section, you'll see the heading "Control who can invite new members to join your community" along with toggles for each role:
- Moderators — Toggle on to allow Moderators to send invitations.
- Members — Toggle on to allow Members to send invitations.
Auto-Save Behavior
Permission changes are saved automatically. When you toggle any permission on or off, the change is applied after a brief delay — there is no need to click a Save button. You'll see your changes take effect immediately for your Campus members.
Important Notes
- Admins always have full permissions. The toggles on this page only affect Members and Moderators.
- Disabling posting for Members means they can still view and interact with existing content (liking, commenting if enabled), but cannot create new posts.
- Disabling commenting for a role prevents that role from writing new comments on any post.
- Permission changes take effect immediately for all members of that role.
