How to Configure Campus Settings

The Campus Settings page lets you customize your Campus's name, appearance, visibility, and more. Only administrators can access Settings.

Prerequisites

  • Admin role in the Campus

Steps

1. Open Campus Settings

Navigate to your Campus and click Campus Settings in the sidebar (under the Moderators section). The Settings page opens with the General tab selected.

2. Set Visibility

At the top of the General settings, you'll see a Public toggle:

  • Public (on) — Anyone can discover and join your Campus from the Explore page.
  • Private (off) — Your Campus is hidden from Explore. New members must be invited or submit a join request.

ℹ️The visibility setting can only be changed by the Empath team. If you need to change it, you'll see a tooltip that reads "Message Empath team to change community visibility." Contact your Partner Success representative.

3. Set Billing Designation

Below the visibility toggle, you'll see the billing designation displayed as either Paid Campus or Free Campus.

ℹ️ This setting can only be changed by the Empath team. Contact your Partner Success representative to update the billing designation.

4. Edit Campus Name

In the Name field, enter or update your Campus's display name. This is what members see in the sidebar and on the Explore page.

5. Edit Description

In the Description field, add or update a short description of your Campus. This helps prospective members understand what the Campus is about.

6. Upload an Icon

Click the Icon (avatar) upload area to choose an image that represents your Campus. This icon appears in the sidebar next to your Campus name.

7. Upload a Banner Image

Click the Banner Image (header image) upload area to add a banner that displays at the top of your Campus. This gives your Campus a distinct visual identity.

8. Configure Allowed Origins

In the Allowed Origins field, enter any domains where your Campus can be embedded. This is used for embedding Campus in external websites.

9. Choose a Color Theme

Under Color Theme, select a color that sets the background and accent colors for your Campus in both dark and light mode. Available options:

  • Purple
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow

10. Save Your Changes

Click the Save button at the bottom of the form to apply your changes.

Danger Zone

If you are the Campus owner, you'll see a Danger Zone section at the bottom of the General tab. This allows you to permanently delete the Campus.

To delete a Campus:

  1. Click the Delete Campus button.
  2. A confirmation dialog will appear warning that this will permanently delete the Campus and all associated data including posts, comments, memberships, and cohorts.
  3. Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
  4. Click Delete Campus to confirm.

⚠️Warning: This action cannot be undone. All Campus data will be permanently removed.

Important Notes

  • Only admins can access the Settings page.
  • The Public/Private visibility toggle and the Paid/Free billing designation require contacting the Empath team to change.
  • Color theme changes affect how the Campus appears to all members in both dark and light mode.
