Assigning content and handling requests in Empath Grow
Assign courses and pathways to a client's members, and approve the content they request.
This article covers how you assign content to a Grow client's members, and how learners ask for content that isn't assigned to them. Assigning content is available on the Grow plan, not on Grow Lite.
Assign content when you add a client
In Add Customer, use Select Content to pick courses and pathways your team built, or premium catalogs. That content is automatically assigned to the client's users.
Add or assign content later
- Open the client from Admin > Grow.
- In the Content section, choose Select Content to add courses or pathways. Added content is assigned to the client's users automatically.
- To assign a specific item to selected people, open the menu next to it and choose Assign content, then pick the members.
- To take content away, choose Remove content. Members lose access to it.
Premium catalog content needs a catalog seat. See How to allocate premium catalogs to a client.
What counts as assigned
Members can watch anything they have access to. Assignment is what puts content in their learning plan and makes it count in progress tracking.
Assignment requests
When a learner starts content that isn't assigned to them, Empath offers to send an assignment request.
- If the client has a manager (by default, the owner you entered in Add Customer), the request goes to them. They approve it from their Empath notification.
- If the client has no manager, requests come to you. Open the client and use the Assignment requests section on the Overview tab to approve or reject them.
If a request is for premium content, give the member a seat on that catalog before approving. Otherwise you'll see Assign this member a catalogue seat first.
