What’s New in the Empath Admin Experience
The new Empath Admin experience replaces the legacy Members area with updated reporting, Learning Progress, member management, account settings, security controls, and new notification tools for managers and administrators.
Summary
As of August 2026, Empath is rolling out a redesigned Admin experience for users with Manager or Admin permissions.
The new Admin area replaces the legacy Members entry point and brings reporting, individual member data, user management, account settings, security controls, and notification settings into a more centralized interface.
Some parts of the new Admin experience are available immediately, while other features are being enabled as related platform and authentication updates are completed.

What ChangedPreviously, managers and administrators primarily used the Members page to review training progress and member information. Other administrative functions were spread across several different settings screens.
The new Admin area introduces a dedicated left-side navigation organized into several sections:
- Reports
- Dashboard
- Learning Progress
- Members
- Members
- Content
- Additional content administration options as available
- Company
- Account Settings
- Notification Settings
Eligible Empath Grow tenants may also see a separate Grow administration area.
The redesign also uses Empath's updated UI and supports both light and dark mode.

The new Empath Admin experience brings reporting, member management, account settings, and notification controls into a single left-side navigation.
Before You BeginYou need at least Manager-level permissions to access the Admin area.
When enabled for your tenant, Admin appears in the main Empath navigation between Dashboard and Courses.
If your tenant is still transitioning and you continue to see Members, you may also be able to access the new experience directly at:
app.empathmsp.com/admin
Legacy administrative entry points are being redirected into the new Admin experience as the rollout progresses.
Dashboard ReportingThe Admin > Dashboard view provides an account or team-level look at learning activity.
This is different from the standard Dashboard learners see when they sign in.
Managers can filter the Admin Dashboard by:
- Group or team
- Date range
These filters apply to the reporting displayed throughout the current Dashboard view.
Depending on your data, the Dashboard can show:
- Members Off Track
- Learning Hours Assigned
- Learning Hours Completed
- Total Members
- Team Progress
- Daily Progress
- Average learning hours per day
- Target global learning hours per day
This provides a quick way to see whether a team is completing the amount of learning expected during the selected period.
Off-Track Members
Selecting the Members Off Track metric opens a list of affected members.
Managers can select members from this view and send a notification reminding them to return to Empath and continue their assigned training.
Reporting Exports
The Dashboard also includes a Download Report action for supported reporting views.
Export availability may vary during rollout. A Download Report button may appear before export functionality has been enabled for that particular view or tenant.
Learning ProgressLearning Progress is a new reporting view designed to answer a common question:
Of the people assigned a particular piece of training, who completed it?
Instead of starting with a person and reviewing everything assigned to them, Learning Progress lets you start with the assigned content.
You can filter reporting using criteria such as:
- Course or Pathway
- Live Stream
- Group or team
You can then expand an assignment to review information such as:
- Assigned members
- Completion status
- Due date
- Completion date
- Pathway milestones
- Courses within a Pathway
- Knowledge Check activity
- Knowledge Check attempts and scores where available
This can be especially useful for training that needs to be tracked across a team, such as:
- Internal procedures
- Cybersecurity training
- Workplace policies
- HR training
- Safety training
- Other compliance-related assignments
Additional Learning Progress reporting capabilities will continue to be added.
Member ManagementThe new Members section combines individual learning reporting and administrative member management into one area.
From the member list, managers and administrators can:
- Search for a member
- Filter by group
- Filter by learning status
- Review overall progress
- View assigned and completed learning hours
- See whether a member is on or off track
- Review the member's last login
- Edit group membership
- Open the member's detailed reporting view
Additional filtering options may be added as the reporting system continues to expand.
Individual Member DetailsSelecting a member opens a dedicated view containing several areas of information.
Depending on your permissions and tenant configuration, these can include:
Stats
Review learning activity for a selected date range, including:
- Learning hours assigned
- Learning hours completed
- Overall progress
- Learning activity over time
- Last login
- Group membership
Member-level reports can also be exported where supported.
Learning Progress
Review the member's assigned Courses and Pathways and see how far they have progressed.
Expandable Pathway reporting can show:
- Milestones
- Courses within each milestone
- Completion status
- Due dates
- Knowledge Checks
- Knowledge Check attempts and scores where available
Recent Activities
The Recent Activities tab provides additional visibility into what the member has recently done in Empath.
This may include activity such as:
- Completing a Course
- Completing a Knowledge Check
- Recent learning activity
- Previous platform activity
This is an initial activity-history view and should not be treated as a complete security information and event management system or comprehensive audit log.
Account Settings
Authorized users can review or update available member information and administrative settings, including:
- Name and account information
- Roles
- Group membership
The Edit Member and Edit Groups actions available elsewhere in the Members area provide shortcuts back to these settings.
Privacy and Security
For tenants migrated to Empath's new authentication provider, the Privacy and Security area provides additional user-level security information and controls.
Depending on permissions and rollout status, this may include:
- MFA controls
- Session information
- Recent login information
- Session management
- Account deactivation or deletion
If this area appears but contains little or no information, your tenant may not yet have completed the authentication provider migration.
Account Settings and SecurityTenant-level settings are also being consolidated into the Admin area under Company > Account Settings.
Authorized administrators can access settings such as:
- Company information
- Address
- Website
- Time zone
- Currency
- Security policies
- MFA requirements
- Session settings
- IP restrictions
The updated area also provides easier visibility into inactive users and recent account activity.
Audit Data
Audit information remains available under the Admin experience, with expanded reporting and CSV export support where enabled.
Some historical information depends on the tenant's authentication-provider migration. The new authentication system provides additional logging going forward, but complete historical authentication data from the previous provider may not be available.
Notification SettingsThe new Company > Notification Settings area is the foundation for account-wide notification management in Empath.
Administrators will be able to control notifications for different types of platform activity, including categories such as:
- Assigned training
- New content
- Upcoming Live Streams
- Requested content
Notification settings can include controls for:
- Enabling or disabling a notification type
- Notification frequency
- Recipient scope
- In-app delivery
- Email delivery
- Future Microsoft Teams delivery
Administrators also have a tenant-level pause control that can disable supported notifications across the organization.
Notification Settings Are Still Being Rolled Out
Notification Settings is currently an evolving feature.
Some controls may appear in your Admin area before the corresponding notification functionality is fully enabled.
For example, Microsoft Teams notification functionality and some additional configuration options shown during the initial rollout may not yet be available.
The notification system will continue to expand as additional functionality is completed.
Empath Grow AdministrationTenants enrolled in Empath Grow may see an additional Grow administration area.
Empath Grow allows eligible partners to provide learning and development capabilities to their own clients through a separate Empath offering.
The Grow administration experience is separate from the standard Empath Admin area and should only appear for tenants enrolled in Grow.

Confirmation StepsTo confirm that your tenant has access to the new Admin experience:
- Sign in to Empath with an account that has at least Manager-level permissions.
- Look for Admin between Dashboard and Courses in the main navigation.
- Select Admin.
- Confirm that the left-side navigation displays the administrative sections available to your account.
- Open Reports > Dashboard.
- Test the group and date-range filters.
- Open Members > Members and select a user to confirm that the new member detail experience is available.
The exact sections and controls you see may vary based on permissions, tenant configuration, authentication migration status, and feature rollout.
Important Notes- The new Admin experience requires at least Manager-level access.
- Not every tenant may receive every new feature at the same time.
- Some security and login information depends on migration to Empath's new authentication provider.
- Some export buttons may appear before that particular export has been enabled.
- Notification Settings is being introduced in stages, and some visible controls may not yet be functional.
- Grow administration is only available to eligible Empath Grow tenants.
- The new interface reorganizes existing reporting as well as introducing new reporting capabilities.
- Existing learning data is not intended to change simply because the interface has changed.
- Set your filters before reviewing reporting. Choose the appropriate group and date range so the Dashboard reflects the team and period you actually want to evaluate.
- Use Learning Progress when tracking a specific training requirement. It is designed to answer completion questions across all assigned members without requiring separate user-by-user reporting.
- Use Member Details when investigating an individual learner. Last login, recent activity, assignments, and progress are now available much closer together.
- Review role permissions when an option is missing. Administrative functionality may differ between Managers and users with broader administrative permissions.
- Account for rollout status when testing new controls. A visible option does not necessarily mean every underlying feature has been enabled for your tenant yet.
Empath is best supported in current versions of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Browser extensions or security tools that block cookies, tracking, scripts, or other browser activity can interfere with:
- Video playback
- Data reporting
- Progress tracking
If your organization uses ad blockers, privacy extensions, browser hardening, or similar security controls, make sure the required Empath domains and services are allowed.
TroubleshootingI still see Members instead of Admin
Your tenant may still be transitioning to the new Admin experience.
If you have Manager or Admin permissions, try navigating directly to:
app.empathmsp.com/admin
I do not see Admin at all
Confirm that your account has at least Manager-level permissions.
If you believe you should have access but do not see the option, contact Empath Support.
Privacy and Security is empty or does not show login information
Some of this information depends on Empath's new authentication provider.
Your tenant may not yet have completed that migration.
The Download Report button is unavailable
Some reporting exports are being enabled separately from the new reporting screens.
A report button may be visible before export functionality has been fully enabled for that view.
A Notification Settings option does not work
Notification Settings is being rolled out in stages. Some settings and delivery methods may be visible before they are fully functional.
Reporting, video playback, or progress data is behaving unexpectedly
Check for browser extensions, filtering tools, cookie restrictions, ad blockers, or security policies that may be interfering with Empath.
